The Occidental Chair works equally well at a dining table or a desk. Inspired by our favorite designs penned by a certain furniture hero named Nakashima, we've taken the Windsor chair typology, tweaked it to our liking and added an upholstered seat straight out of our hot rod shop. Mashing up different styles and keeping it modern, this makes the Occidental one of our favorite dining chairs.
The core frame comes in your choice of Walnut, White Oak or White Ash which makes up the seat and back rest. Our preference is to use Ash for the back spindles and legs - its a strong wood and the contrast makes for a visually rich chair. We also offer the monochrome option of black stained Ash which looks amazing and brings this piece into a completely different visual realm. The standard seat comes in a variety of leathers and fabrics. Of course you can supply your own material (or we can help you get what you want).
Our New Occidental dining chair is the result of about six years of slow evolution. That we have chosen this chair for our own dining table should say something. The chair in the photos below are in Walnut with fabric by Nobilis of Paris - one of our favorite combinations!
