Is this our most beautiful chair? Sometimes we think so and the reason goes beyond skin deep. The profits for this chair go to assist Veterans and their families in need, specifically those who served in Afghanistan and Iraq. Regardless of how you feel about these wars, we can probably all agree that it took a toll on many service members. So for each Black Hawk we sell, we will donate $500 of the proceeds to one of three worthy foundations, and acknowldge you in this giving. You choose which nonprofit - we have the details below.
Now on to the chair. Essentially the Black Hawk is a hot rodded Del Rey. The frame is Ash, triple stained in black and dressed in fine Italian leather. We fabricate the back with a saddle stitch, then burnish, dye and wax the edges - think of fine steel-toe boots. The seat is tightly woven in black Danish paper cord. Black on black on black; everything on this chair is matte black. Sinister, but with an altruistic side.
At checkout you will be asked which foundation you would like the donation to go to. Here is a summary of the three options;
Lone Survivor Foundation - Lone Survivor Foundation’s mission is to provide Veterans and their families with a path to healing from their invisible wounds. lonesurvivorfoundation.org
Children of Fallen Patriots - Their mission is to provide college scholarships and educational counseling to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. fallenpatriots.org
Puppies Behind Bars - PBB trains prison inmates to raise service dogs for wounded war veterans and first responders. puppiesbehindbars.com
